Very professional and helpful — provided alternatives that were beneficial. Very nice.
Old-home values.
Whether your home is a century-old craftsman, a mid-century ranch, or a newer family home, the goal is the same: thoughtful repairs, practical improvements, and work that helps the house function better while still feeling like itself.

Home repairs don't need to be complicated. Tell me what's going on and send a photo if you have one. Whether it's one repair or a list of projects, we'll figure out the next step together.

The work in real homes
Every category below shows the kind of project homeowners actually call about — from sticking doors and ceiling stains to kitchen fixtures, mudroom storage, and porch details.
The first thing you see. The last thing you touch.

Entryways
The first thing you see. The last thing you touch.
“He was able to restore it to its original state.”
You deserve a front door that feels solid, secure, welcoming, and well cared for. From storm doors and weatherstripping to locks, hardware, alignment, and entryway details, I help homeowners create doors that look right, work right, and feel right every time they come home.
“He was able to restore it to its original state.”
Repairs that disappear.

Finishing
Repairs that disappear.
“Took the time to make sure the job was completed the right way.”
A ceiling stain, plaster crack, or damaged wall can make an otherwise beautiful room feel neglected. I repair drywall, plaster, water damage, cracks, and finishing details so the repair disappears and the room feels cared for again.
“Took the time to make sure the job was completed the right way.”
Small improvements. Daily impact.

Kitchens & baths
Small improvements. Daily impact.
“No stone or option left unturned.”
Most kitchens and bathrooms do not need a remodel. They need attention. A dripping faucet, fresh caulk, better lighting, a quieter fan, updated hardware, or a garbage disposal that finally works again. Small improvements often make the biggest difference in the rooms you use every day.
“No stone or option left unturned.”
Better light. Better living.

“The quality of his work is outstanding.”
Lighting changes how a home feels. From ceiling fans and dining fixtures to vanity lights, sconces, dimmers, and exterior lighting, I help homeowners make practical upgrades that improve comfort, visibility, and everyday life.

Technology that belongs in the home.

Technology
Technology that belongs in the home.
“Helpful with problem solving.”
The best technology feels effortless. I install and set up televisions, soundbars, video doorbells, smart locks, security cameras, streaming devices, and other home technology so everything works the way it should without the frustration.
“Helpful with problem solving.”
A place for everything.

Storage
A place for everything.
“I was impressed by Jon's willingness to problem solve.”
Many homes do not need more space. They need better use of the space they already have. Shelves, hooks, closet systems, mudroom storage, artwork, and finishing touches can help a room feel complete and make daily life run more smoothly.
“I was impressed by Jon's willingness to problem solve.”
Confidence in every step.

Safety
Confidence in every step.
“I trust him with all of my projects.”
A secure handrail, a thoughtfully placed grab bar, or a safer stairway can make everyday life easier and more comfortable. The best safety improvements feel sturdy, dignified, and like they always belonged in the home.
“I trust him with all of my projects.”
Protect what you already have.

Exterior
Protect what you already have.
“His fix was solid and effective.”
The outside of a home is where small problems become expensive ones. I repair trim, gates, railings, rot, weatherstripping, and exterior details before water, weather, and time turn minor issues into major repairs.
“His fix was solid and effective.”

Jon did a great job communicating with us throughout the project. He also took the time to make sure the job was completed the right way and even addressed other issues that were not completed properly by the previous contractor. We would highly recommend Jon if you are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, and goes above and beyond to ensure the work is done right and completed on time.

Jon fixed some walls and ceiling drywall. Did an excellent job and well priced. Very trustworthy!
We primarily serve homeowners throughout Clintonville and nearby Central Columbus neighborhoods, along with Worthington, Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights, Bexley, Dublin, Hilliard, Westerville, Gahanna, and surrounding communities.
Much of the work happens in older Clintonville craftsman homes — but thoughtful care applies just as much in traditional family homes and mid-century ranches across Worthington, Upper Arlington, Beechwold, Dublin, Powell, New Albany, Hilliard, Westerville, and the rest of Central Ohio.
The Clintonville Handyman is built for the kind of homes that make Central Ohio neighborhoods feel established: wood trim, old doors, plaster walls, porches, radiators, built-ins, and all the small quirks that come with them.
The work is practical, but the approach is personal. Look closely, communicate clearly, protect the house, and leave the repair feeling like it belongs there.
Send a photo and a short description of what is going on. If it is a good fit, we will talk through the next step. If it needs a specialist, we will tell you.
“Looking forward to having Jon handle other jobs for my family in the future.”
